About me
Zipo with a design background from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and extensive international corporate experience, he brings a unique perspective on spatial composition and visual balance to their art. In retirement, he fully immersed himself in traditional Chinese color ink painting, studying bird-and-flower, figure, and landscape genres under masters like Situ Naiqiang, Liu Zhiwen, and Cao Fu. After returning to Canada, he further explored calligraphy and seal carving with Zhen Hao, enriching his line work through the principle of “calligraphy and painting sharing the same roots.” Additionally, he has received systematic training in blue-and-green landscape painting from Yang Xiuchen over the past seven years.
Artistic Philosophy
Grounded in traditional Chinese ink painting, the artist’s work seamlessly blends spatial composition and structural awareness from their design background. Committed to contemporary ink expressions on Xuan paper, their art transcends formal likeness to capture vibrant spirit and profound mood. Refined through calligraphy and seal carving, their lines possess both structural strength and scholarly depth. By intertwining personal life experiences with traditional heritage, the artist pursues a serene, timeless aesthetic that belongs to the present moment.

拥有香港理工大学设计专业背景及多年国际设计公司经验，深厚的空间构成与视觉平衡素养为其艺术创作奠定了独特基石。退休后全身心投入中国传统彩墨艺术研习，先后于温哥华、上海等地师从名家（司徒乃锵、刘志文、曹复），系统学习花鸟、人物、山水画精髓。返加后继续精进书法篆刻（师从甄浩），深化“书画同源”理解与线条质感。近七年更受益于杨秀臣老师系统的青绿山水公益教学。
创作理念
创作植根于中国水墨传统，巧妙融入设计生涯赋予的空间感与构成意识。致力于在宣纸上探索笔墨语言的当代表达，无论花鸟、人物或山水，皆超越形似，追求气韵生动与意境营造。书法篆刻的锤炼使线条更具骨力与文心。作品在传承脉络中融入个人生命体验，追寻源自传统、又属于当下的宁静深远。”
